Georgia Castillo is a marketing professional with 3 years of experience in the media industry. She attended college at Montclair State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration. As a student, she interned at her first major publication, Billboard Magazine, in 2008. There she assisted in the planning and marketing of renowned music industry conferences, including the Latin Music Awards, Mobile Entertainment Live!, and the Music & Money Symposium.
Shortly after graduation, Georgia began her first full time job at a growing online media company called Information Security Media Group. There she coordinated branding and lead generation campaigns for a network of websites targeting security and risk management professionals. During her time at ISMG, she gained invaluable knowledge in online advertising, e-mail marketing, and web analytics. She was also instrumental in kick-starting the company’s social media efforts and developed the brand’s strategy on all major social networks. As ISMG’s social strategist, Georgia helped to grow each publication’s following by over 125%.
Currently, Georgia works for Scholastic, the world’s largest children’s book publisher. There she handles all digital marketing programs on the Scholastic Parents website. She has worked on successful campaigns for advertisers such as Kellogg’s, Walt Disney Studios, Hilton Hotels, SeaWorld, Boy Scouts of America, Kumon, and more. In every campaign she is involved with, Georgia does her best to exceed client expectations, engage the Scholastic audience with each brand’s initiative, and yield high performance metrics.
